PM Modi Leads Raipur DGP Conference on AI Policing and Counter-Terrorism Roadmap
60th DGP-IGP conference in Raipur reviews security challenges under Viksit Bharat theme.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired key sessions of the 60th All India DGP-IGP Conference at IIM Raipur on Saturday, following its inauguration by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday. The three-day event, running November 28-30 and attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Intelligence Bureau chief Tapan Kumar Deka, CBI Director Praveen Sood, and around 600 officers including DIGs and SPs for the first time, focuses on the theme "Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions." Modi highlighted the forum's role in sharing policing innovations amid recent successes against Naxalism, northeast insurgency, and Jammu-Kashmir issues.
Deliberations covered left-wing extremism, counter-terrorism, cyber security, narcotics control, border management, women's safety, disaster response, and AI-forensic integration in policing. Shah urged a 360-degree approach to organized crime and narcotics via Narcotics Control Bureau synergy, precise intelligence, and new criminal laws, noting sharp reductions in Naxal-affected districts. States presented crime-control models, best practices, and welfare challenges, generating action points for a "Surakshit Bharat."
The conference follows agencies' bust of a "white-collar" terror module linked to the November 10 Red Fort car blast killing 15, emphasizing inter-agency coordination. Modi will conclude the event Sunday with an address reviewing progress and outlining future strategies directly from senior officers.
