PM Modi Kicks Off Gujarat Visit with Ahmedabad Roadshow

Modi’s Grand Roadshow Rocks Ahmedabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his two-day Gujarat visit with a vibrant 2-km roadshow in eastern Ahmedabad on Monday evening, drawing thousands of enthusiastic supporters. The roadshow, starting at Haridarshan crossroads in Naroda and ending at Khodaldham ground in Nikol, preceded a public rally where Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 5,477 crore.

Upon arriving at Ahmedabad airport, Modi was warmly welcomed by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Paatil. Crowds lined the route, waving flags and cheering as the Prime Minister passed, showcasing Gujarat’s strong connection with its former chief minister. At Khodaldham ground, Modi addressed a massive gathering, dedicating projects spanning urban development, railways, roads, and energy.

Key initiatives include 1,449 houses and 130 shops under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for slum rehabilitation in Ramapir Tekra, a Rs 27-crore water pumping station under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and the upgradation of the Sardar Patel Ring Road into a six-lane expressway. Railway projects worth Rs 1,400 crore, including the doubling of the Mahesana-Palanpur line, were also launched to boost connectivity.
