PM Modi Credits Gujarat Model For BJP’s Electoral Dominance In Jamnagar

PM Modi highlights Gujarat’s industrial transformation and BJP’s continued electoral success in Jamnagar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted Gujarat’s rapid industrial transformation and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) continued electoral strength in the state, describing it as a model of sustained development and political continuity. He made the remarks while addressing a large late-night “Abhivadan” programme in Jamnagar, where thousands of supporters gathered to welcome him during his Gujarat visit.

Modi pointed to the BJP’s strong performance in recent local body elections, where the party secured over 700 seats unopposed across various institutions, calling it a reflection of public trust and organisational strength. He credited party workers for maintaining what he described as a multi-generational political mandate in Gujarat, reinforcing the party’s dominance in the state’s electoral landscape.

The Prime Minister also underscored Gujarat’s economic evolution over the past two decades, stating that the state had moved far beyond its earlier economic profile and was now emerging as a hub for advanced manufacturing. He cited developments in sectors such as semiconductor production, metro rail systems, railway engines, and aircraft manufacturing as indicators of industrial progress under sustained governance.

According to Modi, Gujarat’s transformation over the last 20–25 years demonstrates the impact of infrastructure development and investment-driven governance. He said the state’s progress reflects the potential of its people when provided with consistent opportunities and supportive policy frameworks, particularly in industrial and technological sectors.

He also highlighted Gujarat’s role in India’s clean energy transition, noting its early establishment of dedicated institutions focused on climate change and renewable energy. The Prime Minister said the state has become a significant contributor to solar energy production and continues to play a leading role in India’s broader green energy initiatives.

During his address, Modi also referred to political developments in West Bengal, stating that issues faced in the state resonate across the country. He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to development and raised concerns about political violence and challenges faced by party workers there. He further linked his speech to historical and cultural references, including the upcoming anniversary of the Somnath Temple reconstruction and the 1857 uprising, while invoking themes of national unity and heritage. The event saw enthusiastic participation from BJP leaders and supporters, who welcomed the Prime Minister with traditional honours, including turbans and cultural mementoes, as part of a large public gathering in Jamnagar.
