PM Modi Condemns Fujairah Attack Targeting Civilians
PM Modi condemns Fujairah attack, calls targeting civilians unacceptable after three Indians are injured.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack on the United Arab Emirates’ port city of Fujairah, after three Indian nationals were injured in the strike that also triggered a major fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone. Calling the targeting of civilians and infrastructure “unacceptable,” the Prime Minister said India stands in full solidarity with the UAE.
In his statement posted on social media platform X, PM Modi said the attack, which resulted in injuries to Indian citizens, was deeply concerning. He reiterated that India firmly opposes any action that endangers civilian lives or critical infrastructure. The Prime Minister also assured continued support to the UAE in addressing the aftermath of the incident and in promoting stability in the region.
The Prime Minister further emphasized the importance of peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. He said India remains committed to supporting all efforts aimed at reducing tensions in West Asia. His remarks align with India’s long-standing foreign policy position of encouraging negotiation and restraint in conflict zones rather than escalation.

A key part of his statement focused on maritime security, with PM Modi highlighting that safe and uninterrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is essential for global energy security and regional stability. The waterway is one of the world’s most critical shipping routes for crude oil and energy supplies, making any disruption a major international concern.
The Ministry of External Affairs had earlier issued a similar condemnation, calling the attack “unacceptable” and demanding an immediate halt to hostilities. According to Indian officials, the Embassy in Abu Dhabi is coordinating with UAE authorities to ensure medical care and assistance for the injured nationals. The UAE hosts a large Indian expatriate community, making the incident particularly significant for consular engagement.
The attack on Fujairah was part of a broader wave of aerial strikes reported on Monday, during which UAE air defence systems intercepted multiple incoming threats, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. India’s response reflects growing concern over escalating tensions in the region and their potential impact on energy supplies, trade routes, and the safety of Indian citizens abroad.
