PM Modi, Amit Shah to Lead DGP-IGP Conference in Chhattisgarh on Naxalism

Top cops converge for final Naxal assault.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will personally lead India’s top police brass at the 60th annual DGP-IGP Conference in Chhattisgarh’s Nava Raipur from November 28 to 30, with a singular mission, deliver the final, decisive blow to the Maoist insurgency before the March 31, 2026 deadline. The three-day summit, attended by DGPs, IGPs, central force commanders, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, marks a critical turning point as Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) shrinks to isolated pockets.

With only five months remaining to meet the Ministry of Home Affairs’ ambitious target of complete Naxal eradication, the conference will function as a war room for strategy recalibration. Senior officials revealed that Modi and Shah will conduct direct, on-ground reviews of operational progress, field challenges, and intelligence gaps, ensuring every state and central force aligns with the national priority of total elimination.

Beyond Maoism, the summit will tackle emerging internal security threats and the future of policing. Discussions will span cyber warfare, border vulnerabilities, and urban radicalization, but the core focus remains the anti-Naxal endgame. Forces will assess recent successes—reduced Naxal strongholds, neutralized top cadres—and identify remaining red zones for concentrated, intelligence-led operations.

A major thrust will be on technology integration. The conference will explore AI-driven predictive policing, real-time surveillance systems, and data analytics to outmaneuver insurgents in dense forests. Officials emphasized that advanced tools are now essential not just for tracking Maoists but for countering cyber threats and enhancing crime prevention across urban and rural landscapes.

As Chhattisgarh—once the epicenter of Naxalism—hosts this high-stakes gathering, the message is clear: the era of Maoist dominance is ending. With the Prime Minister and Home Minister at the helm, India’s security apparatus is gearing up for a synchronized, tech-powered final assault to reclaim every inch of territory and close a decades-long chapter of internal conflict.
