Pawan Kalyan Says Jana Sena Began In Telangana, Extends Formation Day Greetings
Pawan Kalyan says Jana Sena has strong roots in Telangana.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday said that his party was “born on the soil of Telangana,” asserting that the region has played a foundational role in shaping the party’s ideological outlook and spirit of struggle. His remarks came on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day, amid heightened political attention following police denial of permission for a proposed public meeting in Hyderabad.
Pawan Kalyan said that the Jana Sena Party draws its inspiration from Telangana’s long history of social and political movements. He added that the state symbolises courage, self-respect, and resistance, and that these values continue to influence the party’s approach to public issues. According to him, Telangana’s legacy of mass movements has helped shape Jana Sena’s commitment to advocating for social justice and people-centric governance.
Reaffirming his support for the state, he said Jana Sena remains committed to working towards the aspirations and development goals of the people of Telangana. He emphasised that the party seeks to contribute to the state’s progress in areas such as welfare, employment opportunities, and inclusive development. He also stated that Telangana’s formation itself represents the culmination of decades of struggle and sacrifice by its people.

His comments came a day after the Telangana police denied permission for the proposed “Telangana Nava Nirmana Sankalpa Sabha,” citing concerns over law and order and potential threats to public peace. Following the denial, Pawan Kalyan announced that he would still address a press conference at his residence in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills. He also expressed hope that authorities would allow at least a press interaction with Jana Sena leaders.
In his social media statements, the Jana Sena chief paid tribute to activists, students, farmers, and martyrs who contributed to the statehood movement. He highlighted Telangana’s cultural and historical heritage, mentioning figures such as Sammakka and Saralamma and tribal leader Komaram Bheem as symbols of resistance and identity. He said the state’s strength lies in its diverse traditions, language, and history of social movements.
He also noted that Telangana has made significant progress in sectors such as IT, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, startups, and education, but stressed that development must reach all sections of society. He called for inclusive growth that benefits rural communities, tribal populations, backward classes, women, and youth. According to him, true progress will be achieved only when the benefits of development reach every individual across the state.
