Governor leads Telangana Formation Day celebrations, honours martyrs.

Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Tuesday described the formation of the state as a symbol of the sacrifices made by martyrs and the long democratic struggle that led to its creation. He made the remarks while addressing Telangana State Formation Day celebrations held at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad, where he also unfurled the National Flag and received a Guard of Honour from the state police.

Extending greetings to the people of Telangana and those living across the world, the Governor paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the Telangana movement. He said their sacrifices laid the foundation for the creation of modern Telangana and should be remembered with respect by future generations.

Shukla invoked the Sanskrit phrase “Janani Janmabhumishcha Swargadapi Gariyasi,” stressing the importance of one’s motherland and highlighting the emotional and cultural significance of the state’s formation. He said Telangana’s identity is deeply rooted in its centuries-old traditions, agrarian culture, and rural heritage.

He also praised the contributions of the farming community, noting that Telangana’s agricultural transformation has been shaped by both historical irrigation systems dating back to the Kakatiya era and modern development projects. According to him, these efforts have turned the region into a fertile and productive agricultural landscape.

Highlighting the state’s broader development, the Governor said Telangana has gained global recognition in sectors such as information technology, pharmaceuticals, and startups. He expressed hope that the state would continue to balance rural progress with urban growth while ensuring inclusive development for all sections of society.

Concluding his address, Shukla said Telangana should continue progressing in line with constitutional values and the principle of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah,” expressing optimism that the state will play an increasingly important role in India’s overall development in the coming years.
