Parshuram Statue Unveiled in Sambhal as Devotees Hail Mythic Revival
Sambhal Celebrates Mythological Legacy with Vedic Chants and Devotion.
In a vibrant celebration of cultural and spiritual heritage, a majestic statue of Lord Parshuram was installed at the Shankar Inter College crossing in Sambhal on Monday, accompanied by the resonant chanting of Vedic hymns. The event, attended by hundreds of devotees, marked a significant step toward revitalizing the region’s mythological significance, with organizers hailing it as a milestone in Sambhal’s cultural renaissance.
The foundation for the statue was laid on August 7 by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Bahjoi, setting the stage for Monday’s grand installation. The four-foot-tall brass statue, weighing approximately 150 kilograms and crafted at a cost exceeding Rs 3 lakh, was unveiled amid slogans honoring Lord Parshuram, revered as the guru of Lord Kalki, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The ceremony, steeped in devotion, drew prominent figures, including Juna Akhara’s international general secretary Karnpuri Maharaj, BJP’s western UP vice-president Rajesh Singhal, and Vishva Hindu Parishad district president Anant Agrawal.
Acharya Pandit Shobhit Shastri emphasized Sambhal’s ancient and mythological importance, noting its association with Lord Kalki and Parshuram’s role as his spiritual guide. “This statue is not just a monument but a reaffirmation of Sambhal’s sacred legacy,” Shastri said. Rajkumar Gupta, a key figure in the project, highlighted the meticulous craftsmanship behind the statue, which symbolizes the region’s deep-rooted connection to Hindu traditions.
