One Killed, 15 Injured After Passenger Bus Overturns in Agar Malwa, Madhya Pradesh

A tragic road accident in Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh left one person dead and fifteen others injured on Saturday morning, police officials confirmed. The incident occurred when a private passenger bus en route from Susner to Kurawar suddenly overturned near Badagaon after the driver reportedly lost control.

The deceased has been identified as Gokul Singh, 55, who was walking along the roadside with his buffalo when the bus struck him. His body was recovered from the site and sent for postmortem examination. Among the injured, several sustained critical trauma and internal injuries, with initial reports indicating that four were seriously hurt and six were in critical condition.

The injured passengers were first rushed to Nalkheda Community Hospital for emergency treatment. Those with more severe injuries were subsequently referred to the District Hospital in Agar Malwa for advanced medical care. Doctors are closely monitoring their condition, particularly those suffering from major trauma.

Preliminary information indicates that the bus was carrying around 30 passengers when it veered off the road and overturned, throwing passengers out and causing panic among those on the scene. Locals played a crucial role in the initial rescue, helping extricate victims and providing immediate assistance until police and medical teams arrived.

Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident. Early inquiries suggest possible factors such as mechanical failure, driver error, or poor road conditions, though no official conclusion has yet been reached. The bus has been seized for forensic examination, and statements from survivors and eyewitnesses are being recorded to aid the investigation.

Authorities have urged passengers and vehicle operators to exercise caution while traveling, especially on rural roads, as they continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the accident.
