Omar Abdullah Reviews Flood-Hit Areas In Anantnag, Kashmir
CM visits Anantnag, orders swift relief and rehabilitation, and meets affected families and officials.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conducted an on-ground inspection of flood-ravaged areas in Anantnag district on Saturday, evaluating the aftermath of heavy rainfall that caused widespread damage. Joined by cabinet ministers, advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, legislators, and senior officials including Anantnag Deputy Commissioner Syed Farukhudin, Abdullah gathered direct insights into the destruction of homes, public infrastructure, and ongoing recovery efforts.
Interacting with affected residents, the CM pledged comprehensive support, stating that the government would expedite relief and rehabilitation. He instructed the district administration to prioritize restoration of essential services and ensure timely delivery of supplies to those impacted.
Later, Abdullah convened a review meeting at the Dak Bungalow with top officials to gauge the floods' overall impact and coordinate response strategies. The visit underscores the administration's focus on mitigating hardships in south Kashmir, where recent downpours have disrupted lives and livelihoods. Authorities are now fast-tracking assessments for compensation and long-term flood mitigation.
