Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence in Patna for a pivotal discussion on the state’s development. The day-long visit underscored a renewed push to restore Bihar’s historical prominence as a hub of learning and progress. Pradhan, a senior BJP leader and former national general secretary in-charge of Bihar, shared glimpses of the “heart-to-heart” meeting on X, highlighting their focus on the state’s all-round growth.
The leaders explored strategies to elevate Bihar’s education sector, infrastructure, and economic prospects under the NDA’s governance, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar. “Bihar is once again becoming a centre for learning and education,” Pradhan posted, emphasizing the alliance’s commitment to the state’s prosperity. Key initiatives discussed included expanding educational institutions, improving skill development programs, and reviving Bihar’s ancient legacy as a seat of knowledge, reminiscent of institutions like Nalanda and Vikramshila.
The meeting aligns with the NDA’s broader vision for Bihar, which includes significant investments in healthcare, connectivity, and rural development. Recent projects, such as the Patna Metro and new AIIMS facilities, were reportedly touched upon, alongside plans to bolster digital education and vocational training for youth. The collaboration between BJP and JD(U) aims to accelerate Bihar’s transformation into a modern economic powerhouse while preserving its cultural heritage.
