Mojtaba Khamenei Warns US Bases Have 'No Safe Haven' In Middle East
Iran warns US bases in Middle East face no safety.
Mojtaba Khamenei, identified in Iranian state-linked messaging as Supreme Leader, has issued a strongly worded statement declaring that United States military bases across the Middle East will “no longer have safe haven,” according to posts attributed to his office on X and translated from Persian. In the remarks, Khamenei reportedly used the slogans “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” describing them as enduring rallying cries of what he called the Islamic world.
He also said that regional countries would no longer serve as “shields” for US military installations, framing the presence of American bases as illegitimate and subject to resistance. The statements came at a time when ceasefire-related discussions between Washington and Tehran are reportedly continuing, though progress has been uneven. Despite these ongoing diplomatic contacts, the rhetoric in the posts reflected a markedly confrontational tone toward the United States and its allies, emphasizing continued ideological opposition. Khamenei also urged unity among Islamic countries, calling for collective alignment toward what he described as a “new Islamic civilization.”
He further called on pilgrims taking part in the ongoing Hajj season to pray for what he termed the “liberation of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque,” and for victory against what Iran frequently refers to as “global arrogance,” a phrase commonly used in reference to the United States. The message additionally referenced Iran’s broader political narrative around regional conflicts and resistance movements, urging pilgrims to share accounts of what it described as a “victory” in a recent conflict involving the United States.

The statements also included references to past wartime events and leadership losses, though these claims have not been independently verified and are presented as part of the messaging attributed to Khamenei’s office. The remarks underscore continued ideological confrontation between Tehran and Washington, even as diplomatic channels remain intermittently active, highlighting the parallel tracks of negotiation and escalation that have defined recent relations between the two countries.
