Mojtaba Khamenei Communicating Through Couriers While In Secret Location, Reports Say

Reports say Mojtaba Khamenei is hiding in a secret location using couriers for communication.

Reports citing unnamed US officials claim that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s Supreme Leader, is currently operating from a secret undisclosed location and communicating with sections of the Iranian government only through a network of couriers. The claims suggest unusually strict security arrangements amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic activity involving Iran’s nuclear programme.

According to these reports, senior officials within Iran’s political structure are allegedly unable to reach him directly, with internal communication instead routed through intermediaries. The situation is described as part of broader wartime-style security precautions following years of regional instability and intelligence threats targeting senior leadership figures. These assertions have not been independently verified, and Iranian authorities have not issued any public confirmation regarding the claims.

The reports further state that this restricted communication structure is contributing to delays in internal decision-making, particularly in relation to ongoing discussions with the United States over a potential nuclear agreement framework. Messages reportedly passed between Washington and Tehran are said to require multiple layers of relay before responses are generated, slowing down diplomatic exchanges.

The alleged developments come at a time when negotiations between the two sides remain ongoing but incomplete. Officials quoted in the reports indicate that while broad outlines of a potential understanding may exist, the absence of direct and rapid communication within Iran’s leadership structure is complicating efforts to finalise details. No formal agreement has been announced.

US officials referenced in the reports also describe Iran’s internal coordination system as heavily compartmentalised under current conditions, with leadership figures reportedly operating under strict security protocols. The White House has not commented on the specific intelligence claims or on the reported whereabouts of Iranian officials, and the situation remains unconfirmed by independent or official Iranian sources.
