MK Stalin Joins Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar
Stalin and Gandhi Unite Against Voter List Irregularities
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin embarked on a special chartered flight to Bihar on Wednesday morning to participate in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s *Voter Adhikar Yatra*, a high-profile campaign highlighting alleged irregularities in Bihar’s voter list revision process. Accompanied by his sister, Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Stalin departed Chennai at approximately 7:30 a.m., underscoring the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (DMK) solidarity with the Congress-led initiative ahead of Bihar’s upcoming assembly elections.
Stalin is set to join Gandhi at a public rally in Darbhanga along National Highway 57, where he will address a large gathering to bolster the campaign’s message. The *Voter Adhikar Yatra*, launched on August 17 in Sasaram, spans 1,300 kilometers across Bihar and is scheduled to conclude with a grand rally in Patna on September 1. Gandhi has framed the 16-day march as a “people’s movement” to protect democratic rights, accusing the Election Commission of India (ECI) of deleting nearly 65 lakh names from electoral rolls, allegedly targeting anti-BJP voters.
According to the Chief Minister’s office, Stalin and Kanimozhi will march alongside Gandhi and engage with supporters before returning to Chennai by evening. The DMK has been vocal in its criticism of the ECI’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls, with Stalin previously condemning the exercise as a deliberate attempt to favor the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This participation marks a significant show of opposition unity, with other INDIA bloc leaders, including Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, also joining the yatra at various stages.

The *Yatra* has gained momentum with grassroots support, including two-wheeler rallies and public interactions across districts like Purnea, Supaul, and Muzaffarpur. Congress and its allies, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), aim to leverage this campaign to challenge the BJP’s electoral strategies and mobilize voters ahead of the polls.
