A man was seriously injured in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district after being violently thrown into the air during a powerful storm that swept through parts of the state on Wednesday, causing widespread destruction and multiple casualties across several districts.The incident occurred in Bamiyana village under the Bhamora police station area, where strong winds lifted a tin shed along with a man identified as Nanhe Miyan. According to eyewitness accounts and the victim’s own statement, he was holding onto a rope at the time, hoping to secure himself and the structure as gusty winds intensified suddenly.

However, the force of the storm proved overwhelming. The wind reportedly snapped the rope and hurled both the tin structure and Miyan into the air. He was thrown nearly 40 to 50 feet before crashing back to the ground. The dramatic incident was captured in visuals that have since circulated widely, highlighting the intensity of the weather system that struck the region.Miyan sustained severe injuries in the fall. Medical reports confirmed that he suffered fractures to both his hands and legs. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he is currently recovering. He described the moment of the incident as disorienting, stating that he lost track of where he landed due to the force of the wind.

During his hospital visit, a local official met the injured man and assured him of government assistance. Authorities said necessary support and relief measures would be extended in line with disaster response protocols as the region continues to assess the extent of damage caused by the storm.The incident occurred amid a severe weather system that affected large parts of Uttar Pradesh. According to official figures, at least 89 people were killed, 53 injured, and 87 houses damaged across multiple districts due to rain, thunderstorms, and lightning strikes. Additionally, 114 livestock deaths were reported, underscoring the scale of destruction.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed district officials to send updates on storm-related damage every three hours and ensure timely reporting of relief measures. Authorities have also been instructed to publicise compensation and rescue operations through official channels, including social media, to ensure transparency and faster dissemination of information.Heavy damage has been reported from several districts, including Prayagraj, Bhadohi, Fatehpur, and Sonbhadra, as emergency response teams continue assessment and relief operations across affected areas.
