Magnitude 3.8 Earthquake Jolts Nashik, Tremors Felt Across Nearby Areas

An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale struck Maharashtra's Nashik district in the early hours of Thursday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The tremor occurred at 2:37:41 am IST, prompting residents in parts of the district to experience mild shaking. The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 5 kilometres, making it a shallow seismic event. The NCS said the epicentre was located at latitude 20.448 N and longitude 73.708 E. While the tremor was noticeable in some areas, there were no immediate reports of casualties, injuries, or damage to property.

The National Center for Seismology shared the details of the earthquake in a post on X, confirming the magnitude, depth, and coordinates of the seismic activity.
