INS Vikrant and 32 Aircraft to Dazzle at Kerala’s Navy Day 2025 Celebrations with President Murmu in Attendance

India’s Navy Day 2025 will showcase cutting-edge warships and aerial displays at Kerala’s Shangumugham Beach.

The Indian Navy is set to mark Navy Day 2025 with impressive operational demonstrations at Shangumugham Beach in Kerala. The event will feature 19 major warships, including the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, alongside a submarine, four fast intervention boats, and 32 aircraft encompassing fighter jets, surveillance planes, and helicopters. These exhibits aim to showcase India’s naval prowess and technological advancements.

President Droupadi Murmu will attend as the chief guest, arriving in Thiruvananthapuram at 4:20 p.m. where she will be welcomed with a guard of honour. She will witness the naval demonstrations before proceeding to Lok Bhavan and is expected to depart for Delhi the following morning, according to official sources.

The Navy Day celebrations commemorate the Indian Navy’s historic missile boat attack on Karachi harbour during the 1971 war. Authorities have described the event as a “mega spectacle” offering the public a rare insight into the Navy’s modern maritime capabilities and multi-domain operations.

Due to the large-scale event, the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd (TIAL) has issued traffic advisories affecting terminals 1 and 2. These restrictions will be in place from afternoon through the night, potentially causing travel delays, prompting passengers to plan their journeys accordingly.

The showcase not only honors the Navy’s past achievements but also highlights India’s expanding naval strength amid strategic challenges in the region. The operational displays underline the importance of a modern, versatile navy in securing national interests and maintaining regional stability.
