President Murmu Highlights ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ as Key to Global Unity Amidst Today's Challenges

President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the enduring importance of the ancient Indian philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’—the world is one family—during the launch of the Brahma Kumaris’ annual theme for 2025-26 titled ‘Meditation for World Unity and Trust.’ Speaking at the event on Friday, she underlined how this timeless principle remains profoundly relevant in today’s era, marked by unprecedented global challenges and uncertainties.

Murmu noted that India’s ancient civilization and its rich cultural heritage have long embodied the spirit of global harmony and interconnectedness. With the world currently facing complex crises ranging from geopolitical tensions to environmental degradation and widespread mental health issues, the President argued that the message of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ offers a path toward building mutual trust and collective resilience.

Reflecting on contemporary society, Murmu pointed to how humanity, despite remarkable advancements in education and technology, now struggles with heightened stress, mental insecurity, mistrust, and loneliness. These internal challenges mirror external conflicts, necessitating a deeper, more introspective approach to global well-being.
