India launches first clean energy train with PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch India’s first hydrogen-powered train from Jind in Haryana on Friday, marking a major step towards clean and sustainable transportation in the country. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reviewed preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit and said all programmes linked to the event would follow an eco-friendly approach.

Chief Minister Saini inspected arrangements at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, where several programmes of the Prime Minister are scheduled. He later visited Jind railway station to review preparations for the hydrogen train launch, including passenger facilities, railway tracks, entry arrangements for the public and VIP guests, the executive lounge, and cafeteria facilities.

The Chief Minister also reviewed preparations for the ‘Viksit Bharat-Viksit Haryana’ rally at the Haryana Urban Development Authority ground opposite Eklavya Stadium. He directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for visitors, including seating, parking, drinking water, and other essential facilities to prevent inconvenience during the event.

Ahead of the launch, Tourism Minister Arvind Sharma led a cleanliness campaign under the ‘Swachhata Se Swagat’ initiative at Gohana railway junction. He said the arrival of the hydrogen-powered train would represent an important moment in India’s journey towards modern and environmentally responsible transportation. An eco-friendly rally is also planned in Jind to mark the occasion.

Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said July 17 would be a significant day for Haryana’s development, with the inauguration of major infrastructure and healthcare projects. Along with the hydrogen train service on the Jind-Sonipat railway section, Prime Minister Modi is expected to inaugurate Bhiwani Medical College and Koriawas Medical College in Mahendragarh.

The new medical institutions are expected to improve healthcare access in southern Haryana by providing advanced treatment facilities closer to residents. The projects are also aimed at creating more opportunities for medical education while supporting broader government efforts to strengthen healthcare, railway connectivity, and infrastructure development across the state.
