IAF Sends Strong Message on Republic Day with Rare Weaponry Display

Video showcases Balakot and Operation Sindoor weapons on fighter jets.

On India’s 77th Republic Day, the Indian Air Force delivered a powerful and subtle response to years of scepticism and disinformation regarding its operational capabilities. In a departure from tradition, the IAF released a striking video featuring its frontline fighter jets fully armed with the exact weapon systems used during the 2019 Balakot airstrike and the more recent Operation Sindoor, effectively countering claims that such munitions were never deployed.

The footage captured several groundbreaking visuals never publicly shown before. Rafale jets were seen carrying the advanced Meteor long-range air-to-air missile, while an LCA Tejas was filmed firing the same weapon, underlining India’s integration of cutting-edge European technology. A fully loaded Mirage 2000 displayed the identical missile configuration employed in the Balakot operation, directly addressing persistent doubts about the platform’s armament during that mission.

Other highlights included the indigenous Astra air-to-air missile mounted on Sukhoi-30MKI and Jaguar aircraft, demonstrating significant upgrades to these fleets. The video also featured a Sukhoi-30MKI equipped with the supersonic BrahMos cruise missile under its fuselage, alongside Rafale jets loaded with Hammer precision-guided standoff bombs and Meteor missiles. Additionally, Sukhoi-30MKIs were shown carrying the highly accurate Rampage air-to-surface missile, a key asset in Operation Sindoor.

By publicly revealing these live weapon configurations—rarely displayed even in routine operations—the IAF has sent an unambiguous message to detractors, including those from across the border who questioned the existence or use of systems like the Meteor. The release reinforces the force’s transparency, technological prowess, and readiness while celebrating national pride on Republic Day.

This visual statement comes amid ongoing regional security dynamics and serves as a reminder of India’s evolving aerial strike capabilities across multiple platforms.
