Gujarat Seeks Centre Help To Safely Return Gujaratis Stranded In Nepal

Centre pledges support as Gujaratis face safety concerns amid Nepal unrest.

The Gujarat government, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, has formally requested the Central government to facilitate the safe return of Gujarati tourists and students affected by the ongoing civil unrest in Nepal. In a tweet, Patel stated that the state administration is actively coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and has directed officials to prioritise the situation, emphasising the need for immediate support.

State Minister Rushikesh Patel confirmed that the Centre has assured comprehensive measures for the safety of all Indians in Nepal, where anti-government protests have escalated into violence.

"After the Nepal incident, Bhupendrabhai has taken note of all our expatriates and Gujarati people there. A lot of people from Gujarat visit Nepal as tourists," Rushikesh Patel told reporters, highlighting the Chief Minister's concerns for their well-being.
