Government Deploys 500,000 Security Personnel for Re-NEET 2026 on June 21

Government Deploys 500,000 Security Personnel for Re-NEET June 21 Exam.

The government has rolled out an extensive multi-layer security plan for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, aiming to restore confidence among nearly 22 lakh medical aspirants after allegations of a paper leak during the previous test. Authorities have assured candidates and parents that enhanced safeguards are in place to ensure a fair, transparent and tamper-proof examination process across the country.

As part of the security arrangements, unusual aerial movements, including military helicopter flyovers, have been reported in cities such as Tirunelveli. Officials indicated that similar activities may be witnessed in other parts of the country over the next few days as sensitive examination materials are monitored and transported under heightened surveillance. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has also reiterated that the re-examination will be conducted as scheduled and advised students not to believe rumours circulating on social media regarding any postponement.

To strengthen security at examination centres, the government has deployed high-powered 5G jammers designed to completely block mobile data, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals during the examination. The measures are intended to eliminate the possibility of electronic communication or unauthorised information sharing. In addition, authorities have temporarily restricted access to Telegram, a platform that has previously come under scrutiny in investigations related to examination paper leaks.

Officials have also announced a nationwide deployment of security personnel to safeguard question papers, examination centres and transportation routes. The papers will be stored in high-security strongrooms with controlled access and continuous surveillance before being dispatched to centres under strict monitoring. The multiple layers of protection are aimed at preventing any tampering or unauthorised access throughout the process.

The re-examination follows concerns raised over the integrity of the earlier NEET UG 2026 examination, prompting authorities to introduce stricter protocols and closer coordination between central agencies, state administrations and law enforcement bodies. The comprehensive security plan reflects the government's effort to rebuild trust in one of India's most competitive entrance examinations and ensure a level playing field for all candidates.

With the examination just days away, officials have urged students to focus on their preparations and rely only on official announcements from the NTA and government agencies. The combination of advanced technology, enhanced surveillance, restricted digital communication and large-scale security deployment is expected to make Re-NEET 2026 one of the most tightly monitored entrance examinations conducted in the country.
