Four Dead One Critical After Car Falls Into Gorge in Himachal Pradesh

Four members of a family lose their lives in a horrifying accident in Himachal Pradesh, leaving one critically injured.

A fatal road accident near Jani village in Kinnaur district claimed the lives of four people, including a woman and her son, when their car plunged into a deep gorge on Saturday morning. One occupant was rescued with serious injuries and rushed to hospital.

The incident occurred around 9:20 am, prompting a joint rescue operation involving local residents and emergency teams. The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the gorge, and the injured, identified as Vidya Krishan (32), was transported to JSW Hospital in Tapri for treatment.

Police confirmed that the deceased are Kirshna (42), her son Himesh Kumar (19), Sushma (47), and Inder Lal (30), all residents of Jani village. The fifth occupant survived but remains in critical condition, highlighting the severity of the crash.

Kinnaur Superintendent of Police, Sushil Kumar, stated that the car apparently lost control before plunging into the gorge. Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the exact cause of the accident. A post-mortem examination has been ordered, and police are reviewing eyewitness accounts to determine if road conditions, vehicle malfunction, or other factors contributed to the tragedy.

The accident has sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting calls for stricter road safety measures in the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh, where treacherous terrain often leads to deadly mishaps.
