Former Jeffrey Epstein Model Recruiter Found Dead; Investigation Underway

French model recruiter Daniel Siad, who was linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s network by introducing women to him over several years, has been found dead at his residence near Paris, according to French authorities. Investigators have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death as a broader probe into alleged human trafficking and criminal conspiracy connected to Epstein continues.

Siad’s body was discovered on Monday at his home in Colombes, a suburb of the French capital, the Nanterre Judicial Court prosecutor’s office said. Authorities have not released details about the circumstances surrounding his death, and the investigation into the cause remains ongoing.

The death comes as French prosecutors continue examining allegations involving Epstein’s international network. Officials said 24 women have either come forward or been identified during the investigation, with at least 16 individuals already interviewed as part of the inquiry. Prosecutors confirmed that the investigation will continue despite Siad’s death.

Before his death, Siad had denied having any knowledge that women he introduced to Epstein had been abused. In an interview published in June, he said he believed Epstein was a legitimate professional figure and claimed that he never received complaints from anyone he had introduced. Siad also said Epstein had presented himself as a casting director connected to Victoria’s Secret and modelling agencies, though reports stated that no evidence was found supporting that claim.

Documents released by the US Department of Justice reportedly showed financial links between Epstein and Siad, including payments amounting to tens of thousands of dollars. The files also contained messages in which Siad shared photographs of young women with Epstein and discussed finding potential assistants or models. Investigators had placed Siad under special measures, including phone monitoring, but prosecutors said there was not enough evidence to justify his arrest.

Some alleged victims said Siad’s death had taken away a chance for further accountability. Russian-born model Svetlana Pozhidaeva, who previously alleged that Epstein abused her after Siad introduced them, said she wanted justice and closure through the legal process. Siad’s lawyer, Ménya Arab-Tigrine, maintained that his client was innocent and had cooperated with authorities, adding that no charges had been formally brought against him.

Separately, Siad had also faced a rape allegation in France related to an incident reportedly dating back to 1990, which he denied. Authorities said the current Epstein-related investigation would proceed as they continue reviewing evidence and testimonies connected to the wider allegations.
