Exhibition Goods Warehouse Gutted In Massive Fire In Delhi’s Chandan Hola
Six-day rain spell likely as deep depression moves inland.
A massive fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday at a warehouse storing exhibition materials in the Chandan Hola area of the national capital, causing extensive damage but leaving no casualties reported. According to officials, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received an emergency call at around 2:11 a.m. reporting flames erupting from a tin-shed warehouse spread across nearly two acres. The intensity of the fire quickly raised alarm in the surrounding locality, prompting panic as thick smoke and flames were seen engulfing the structure. The facility was reportedly used for storing exhibition-related goods and materials.
In response, the fire department mobilised more than 25 fire tenders to the site to contain the blaze. Firefighters began a large-scale operation immediately upon arrival, focusing on preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and storage units. Due to the highly combustible nature of the stored materials, the fire spread rapidly through parts of the premises in the initial hours.
Firefighting teams worked through the night in sustained efforts to bring the situation under control. Officials said the operation lasted several hours before the flames were finally contained. Despite the scale of the incident and the difficulty in controlling the blaze, emergency responders successfully ensured that the fire did not extend beyond the affected warehouse area.

Authorities confirmed that while a significant quantity of exhibition materials was destroyed in the fire, no loss of life or injuries were reported. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage, and an investigation has been initiated to determine how the incident began and whether any safety lapses contributed to the outbreak.
The incident adds to a series of fire-related emergencies reported in Delhi in recent days, raising renewed concerns about fire safety standards in commercial and storage facilities. Earlier this week, a separate major fire at a commercial building in Uttam Nagar also required a large-scale response from the Delhi Fire Services, though no casualties were reported in that case as well.
