On the occasion of the Border Security Force’s 61st Raising Day, Inspector General Ashok Yadav stunned reporters in Srinagar by announcing that not one terrorist has succeeded in infiltrating Kashmir across the Line of Control throughout the entire year of 2025, marking an unprecedented clean sheet achieved through relentless vigilance and lethal precision that left eight intruders dead and forced five others to scramble back in panic during four separate attempts.
The top officer attributed this historic shutdown of terror corridors to total domination of the 343-kilometre Line of Control by BSF troops working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Indian Army, combined with real-time intelligence that keeps all 69 active launch pads opposite the Valley under constant watch, where an estimated 100-120 heavily armed terrorists still wait in vain for an opening that never comes.
Yadav described Operation Sindoor as the defining moment of the year, a thunderous cross-border fire assault in which BSF artillery units and forward battalions hammered Pakistani posts and terrorist infrastructure with pinpoint accuracy, wiping out launch pads, flattening bunkers, and inflicting severe casualties on enemy troops in a display of overwhelming firepower that earned rare praise from the highest levels of national leadership.
