DU allocates 93,033 UG seats in Round 1 admissions result.
The University of Delhi (DU) has announced the Round 1 seat allocation results for undergraduate admissions under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) 2026, allocating 93,033 seats across 221 undergraduate programmes offered by 67 colleges. The first round of admissions witnessed strong participation, with the university processing applications from lakhs of candidates seeking admission to its various undergraduate courses for the 2026-27 academic session.
According to official figures, 2,18,284 candidates successfully registered for undergraduate admissions, while 2,08,043 applicants completed Phase II of the admission process, including programme and college preference filling, by July 13. During the allocation process, the university evaluated 1,59,42,385 programme-college preferences submitted by applicants before preparing the first merit-based allotment list under the CSAS framework.
Of the 93,033 seats allotted, 42,019 were allocated to male candidates and 51,014 to female candidates, resulting in an overall allocation rate of approximately 86.1 per cent. The university also allotted seats to 1,243 Single Girl Child candidates under the applicable admission provisions. Candidates who have been allotted seats must now complete the next stages of the admission process within the prescribed schedule. They are required to accept the allotted seat through the CSAS portal, following which the respective colleges will verify the uploaded documents. Once the verification process is completed successfully, candidates must pay the admission fee online to confirm their provisional admission.
The university has advised students to carefully follow the admission timeline and complete all formalities before the deadlines to avoid cancellation of their allotted seats. Applicants who fail to accept their allocated seat or complete document verification and fee payment within the stipulated period may lose their claim to the allotted programme during the ongoing admission cycle. The university is expected to publish further instructions for candidates participating in subsequent rounds of counselling.
Delhi University continues to conduct undergraduate admissions through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) based on CUET UG scores, ensuring a transparent and centralised admission process. Following the completion of Round 1 admissions, the university will announce the Round 2 seat allocation as per the official schedule, allowing candidates to upgrade, change or secure seats based on availability and subsequent merit lists.
