Drunk Man Wraps 15-Foot Python Around Neck in UP Meat Shop

Panic broke out in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday evening after a large python entered a meat shop and appeared to approach goats kept inside. The incident took an unexpected turn when a heavily intoxicated man identified as Suresh approached the reptile without apparent fear and grabbed it with his bare hands. His actions stunned local residents and shopkeepers, who gathered to watch as he handled the snake in the middle of the street.

According to local accounts cited in the report, the python was approximately 15 feet long and entered the shop before the owner noticed it. The reptile was reportedly moving towards the goats, possibly in search of prey, when the situation was spotted. Suresh then intervened, approaching the python despite the potential danger and attempting to restrain it with his hands.

The snake reportedly coiled around Suresh's hand as he tried to hold it and appeared to constrict in an attempt to escape. It also reportedly bit his hand once or twice during the struggle. Despite this, Suresh remained unfazed and continued handling the reptile. After gaining control of the python, he draped it around his shoulders, resembling a garland, and continued playing with it as a crowd gathered around the unusual scene.

Passersby and local shopkeepers watched in astonishment as Suresh continued to handle the large snake in public. After spending some time with the reptile, he reportedly placed it inside a large container and secured it. He subsequently carried the container away and released the python into a drain, allowing it to move away from the populated area.

The python reportedly raised its head several feet into the air after being released, briefly creating another tense moment for those watching. It then slithered away, bringing relief to local residents who had gathered at the spot. The incident drew significant attention because of the man's unusual decision to approach and handle a large wild snake despite the obvious risks involved.

Pythons are non-venomous snakes, but they can still pose a serious physical danger because of their size and ability to constrict. Handling a large wild reptile without appropriate training or protective equipment can result in injury, even if the animal is not venomous. The incident in Barabanki ended without any reported major consequence in the information provided, while the python was eventually moved away from the meat shop and released.
