Bengaluru Man Walks 2 Km Home After Auto Gets Stuck in Jam

Bengaluru's notorious traffic congestion once again came into focus after a man shared a video showing how he was forced to abandon an autorickshaw and walk home. The man, identified as Shivang, said he had paid ₹150 for the auto ride but eventually found himself stuck in heavy traffic near an intersection. With the vehicle barely moving, he decided to get out and cover the remaining distance on foot. His experience highlights the frustration faced by commuters when severe congestion turns short journeys into lengthy trips.

According to Shivang, the traffic jam near the intersection was so severe that the autorickshaw took around 25 to 30 minutes just to reach the junction. He said a road nearby appeared relatively clear, but the intersection itself was heavily congested. The contrast between the traffic conditions on the two roads was visible in the video he shared on Instagram, with one side appearing largely free of vehicles while traffic remained severely backed up at the junction.

Shivang said he eventually decided that continuing in the autorickshaw would take longer than walking. After getting out of the vehicle, he still had approximately one to two kilometres to travel before reaching home. He therefore chose to walk the remaining distance rather than remain stuck in the traffic. His decision reflected the difficulties commuters can face when congestion becomes so intense that travelling by road offers little advantage over walking.

The incident also drew attention to the broader traffic challenges experienced by Bengaluru residents and daily commuters. The city has frequently faced congestion on busy roads and intersections, particularly during periods of high traffic. Shivang's experience showed how traffic conditions can alter travel plans even after a commuter has already paid for a ride.

The video also highlighted the frustration of paying for a ride but still being unable to reach the destination by vehicle. Shivang said that although he had paid ₹150 for the autorickshaw, the congestion forced him to leave it before reaching home. He explained that his destination was only around one to two kilometres away from the point where he got down, making walking a more practical option under the circumstances.

The incident has once again put Bengaluru's traffic congestion in the spotlight, with the experience illustrating the unpredictable nature of commuting through heavily crowded intersections. While Shivang's decision to walk allowed him to avoid spending additional time in the jam, the episode also underlined the everyday challenges faced by residents navigating the city's roads. His video has brought another personal account of Bengaluru's traffic woes to wider attention.
