DMRC Confirms All Stations Open For Entry and Exit Again

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the complete restoration of services across the Delhi Metro network, with all stations now open for passenger entry and exit. The announcement comes after temporary restrictions were imposed at several stations in Central Delhi due to heightened security arrangements during nationwide protests over the alleged NEET paper leak. With the latest advisory, normal metro operations have resumed across the national capital, providing relief to thousands of daily commuters.

In a post on X, the DMRC confirmed that all stations are once again fully operational, stating that both entry and exit services have been restored throughout the network. The announcement marks the end of phased restrictions that had affected travel over the weekend, as security agencies gradually eased precautionary measures in sensitive areas of the city.

The restoration of services began on Saturday, when the DMRC reopened entry gates at Janpath Metro Station. Earlier, passenger entry had also resumed at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat stations, signalling a phased return to normal operations. These stations had remained under restrictions because of their proximity to key protest sites and government buildings in Central Delhi.

At the height of the security measures, the DMRC had temporarily suspended entry and exit services at 18 metro stations until further notice. The affected stations included Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, Jhandewalan and New Delhi. The restrictions were implemented to manage crowd movement and maintain public safety during the protests.

The security measures coincided with large-scale demonstrations over the alleged NEET paper leak, during which students and youth groups demanded accountability and reforms in the examination system. The protests also intensified calls for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who later stepped down from his post following an agreement between the Centre and protesting student representatives.

With all restrictions now lifted, Delhi Metro services have returned to normal across the network, restoring seamless connectivity for commuters throughout the city. The reopening of every station is expected to ease travel disruptions caused by the temporary closures and marks the conclusion of the security-related operational changes introduced during the recent period of heightened public demonstrations.
