Delhi’s Tiranga Cyclothon Ignites Patriotism for Girls
CM Gupta flags off empowering ride to Rajghat.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched a spirited Tiranga Cyclothon for girls from the Delhi Legislative Assembly in Civil Lines to Rajghat on Tuesday, emphasizing women’s empowerment and national pride ahead of India’s 79th Independence Day on August 15. Joined by Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, Gupta flagged off the event, highlighting her government’s commitment to securing a brighter future for girls. “The true glory of the Tiranga will shine when our girls achieve complete freedom,” she told participants.
Concurrently, the Union Culture Ministry’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Bike Rally’ was launched by Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Sanjay Seth, CM Gupta, and several MPs. Gupta praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for revitalizing national pride, stating, “Before 2014, did we see a PM leading with the Tiranga? Today, those who carry the Constitution in their pockets often lack the Tiranga in their hands.” She criticized detractors, saying, “Some claim they won India’s independence, yet doubt the nation’s integrity.”
Gupta emphasized the Tiranga’s significance, noting, “Its three colors symbolize our prosperity, and every Indian aspires to keep it flying high.” She highlighted the growing patriotism 78 years after Independence, crediting Modi for making the Tiranga a household symbol. “From MPs to soldiers, everyone is expressing their love for Bharat,” she said, as chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ echoed during the rally.
