Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Accuses AAP of Fake Development in Ads Only

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta inaugurates Rs 135 crore projects in Mehrauli, criticizes AAP for ad-based development.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday inaugurated development projects worth over ₹135 crore in Mehrauli, south Delhi, while sharply criticizing the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for neglecting public needs. Speaking at the event, Gupta accused the Arvind Kejriwal-led administration of showcasing development only in advertisements, leaving real issues and citizen aspirations unaddressed for years.

“Some people merely made Delhi shine in advertisements. The heritage of Mehrauli, the needs of this area, and the aspirations of its citizens remained neglected for years,” CM Gupta said. She emphasized that the BJP government in Delhi is committed to tangible development, good governance, and revitalizing the city from the inertia it faced under the previous regime.

The Chief Minister highlighted the key projects inaugurated in Mehrauli, which include initiatives aimed at improving cleanliness, strengthening infrastructure, and enhancing citizen safety and convenience. “While preserving the historical grandeur of Mehrauli, we are connecting it to modern facilities of the 21st century. Heritage will be preserved, and the future will be empowered,” she added.

Gupta also took a veiled dig at the AAP government, stating, “Their politics was solely power-centric; our politics is one of service, good governance, and development.” She stressed that the BJP’s approach focuses on ensuring that every neighborhood, colony, and assembly constituency contributes to Delhi’s overall progress, with Mehrauli being a leading example.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by area MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, MLA Gajendra Singh Yadav, former Councillor Aarti Singh Yadav, zonal presidents, and other local dignitaries. Gupta concluded her address by reiterating the government’s commitment to combining heritage preservation with modern urban development to enhance the quality of life for Delhi residents.
