Delhi Blast Aftermath: Maximum Vigil in Andhra Pradesh as Police Step Up Security
Delhi explosion triggers total security clampdown across Andhra Pradesh
Immediately after the terrifying explosion outside Delhi’s historic Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening, Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta declared a statewide high alert, ordering every police unit from coastal Visakhapatnam to the sacred town of Puttaparthi to shift into maximum security mode and leave no stone unturned in preventing any copycat attack or terror spillover on Andhra soil.
In a marathon video conference that lasted several hours, the DGP personally addressed Intelligence Chief Maheshchandra Laddha, all Inspectors General, Deputy Inspectors General, police commissioners of major cities, and superintendents of every district, issuing crystal-clear directives for round-the-clock surveillance, deployment of additional forces, and immediate activation of anti-sabotage measures at all vital installations, crowded marketplaces, transport hubs, and religious sites across the state.
With the prestigious Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit just days away on November 14-15 in Visakhapatnam, Commissioner Dr Shankar Bratya Bagchi has been directed to transform the port city into a fortress, with intensified frisking and checking at the airport, railway stations, bus terminals, lodges, guest houses, and every possible entry point, while plainclothes teams and dog squads remain on permanent patrol.

At the same time, unprecedented security arrangements have been ordered for Puttaparthi ahead of the global centenary birth celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba on November 23, with multiple bomb detection and disposal squads stationed permanently inside and around Prasanthi Nilayam, thorough vehicle checks on all approach roads, and drone surveillance covering the entire pilgrimage zone to ensure absolute safety of lakhs of expected devotees.
Intelligence wings and Special Branch units have been put on war footing, collecting real-time information from the field while rapid action teams stand ready for instant deployment; the DGP has made a direct appeal to citizens to stay extremely vigilant, immediately report any suspicious person, abandoned object, or unusual activity to the nearest police station or dial 100, as Andhra Pradesh stands united against any threat in the shadow of the Delhi blast.
