CM Yadav To Attend Krishi Manthan 2026, Inaugurate Projects At Jabalpur Agriculture University

CM Yadav to inaugurate projects and launch Krishi Sakhi training under MP’s agriculture growth roadmap.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to attend the state-level ‘Krishi Manthan 2026’ programme at the Agriculture University in Jabalpur on Wednesday, marking a key initiative under the state government’s ‘Krishi Varsh 2026’ agenda aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector.

The event will focus on enhancing agricultural infrastructure and shaping policy direction to support farmers across the state. As part of the programme, the Chief Minister will inaugurate a newly constructed administrative building at the university, developed at a cost of Rs 13 crore. The facility has been named in honour of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, reflecting the government’s emphasis on legacy and institutional development.

Officials indicated that ‘Krishi Manthan 2026’ will feature a state-level brainstorming workshop bringing together experts, policymakers, and agricultural stakeholders. The discussions will focus on aligning agricultural research, extension services, and market access, with the aim of improving productivity and increasing farmers’ incomes. The outcomes are expected to contribute to policy planning under the broader ‘Krishi Varsh 2026’ roadmap.

A major highlight of the event will be the launch of a training programme for 1,000 ‘Krishi Sakhis’. This initiative is designed to strengthen last-mile agricultural extension services by empowering women at the grassroots level to promote natural farming practices and disseminate knowledge directly to farmers in rural areas.

The programme will be attended by several senior members of the state Cabinet, including Deputy Chief Ministers Jagdish Devda and Rajendra Shukla, along with ministers Aidal Singh Kansana, Rakesh Singh, Prahlad Singh Patel, and Lakhan Patel.

In addition to the main event, the Chief Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation for several development projects related to agriculture and infrastructure. These include the administrative building of the Sugarcane Research Centre in Bohani, a Skill Development Centre at Balaghat Agricultural University, and an Automated Liquid Bio-fertilizer Production Centre in Jabalpur. Four units under the Department of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development, with a combined outlay of Rs 4.92 crore, will also be dedicated, underscoring the government’s push toward agriculture-led growth through targeted investments.
