CJI Surya Kant Introduces Unified Court Data System And AI Chatbot For Judiciary
CJI launches unified court data system and AI chatbot to improve access to justice services.
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Monday launched two major digital initiatives aimed at modernising India’s judicial system, including the “One Case One Data” framework and an Artificial Intelligence-powered chatbot named “Su Sahay”. The announcements were made at the start of court proceedings at the Supreme Court of India.
The “One Case One Data” initiative is designed to create a unified national database of judicial information by integrating case details from High Courts, District Courts, and Taluka Courts. According to the Chief Justice, the system will consolidate multi-level case data into a single streamlined structure, enabling better coordination and reducing fragmentation in judicial records across different tiers of the judiciary.
CJI Surya Kant explained that the initiative is expected to significantly improve case management efficiency by ensuring that all related information for a single case is available in one integrated system. This digital framework aims to enhance transparency, reduce duplication of records, and support faster tracking of cases across jurisdictions. He noted that the judiciary is moving towards a more interconnected and technology-driven infrastructure.

Alongside this, the Chief Justice also unveiled “Su Sahay”, an AI-based chatbot developed to assist citizens in accessing Supreme Court services. The chatbot has been created by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in collaboration with the Supreme Court Registry and will be integrated into the court’s official website to provide user-friendly guidance for litigants and the general public.
The AI tool is designed to help users navigate court procedures, obtain information about services, and understand basic procedural requirements. It aims to simplify access to justice by offering quick, front-end assistance to citizens who may not be familiar with legal or digital processes. The CJI said the initiative will make judicial services more accessible and responsive.
Expressing appreciation for the teams involved, Surya Kant commended the efforts of the Supreme Court Registry and NIC officials in developing the systems. He said he was confident that both initiatives would benefit all stakeholders, including litigants, lawyers, and court administrators, and would mark an important step toward a more efficient and technology-enabled judiciary in India.
