Chandrababu Naidu Promises Fast-Track Clearances For Royal Enfield Andhra Plant
Royal Enfield plans Rs 2,500 crore plant in Andhra Pradesh as state promises fast-track approvals.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced fast-track clearance procedures for Royal Enfield’s proposed greenfield manufacturing facility in the state, marking a major push to attract large-scale industrial investment and expand the state’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem.
The proposed project involves an investment of around ₹2,500 crore by Royal Enfield, which plans to set up a new manufacturing plant in Tada (Tirupati district). The facility is intended to support the company’s long-term production expansion as demand rises for its mid-size motorcycle range globally, particularly in the 250cc–750cc segment.
According to company plans, the project will be implemented in phases, subject to board approvals and market conditions. The new plant will be developed at Vaneluru and Rallakuppam villages in Satyavedu Mandal and will include integrated infrastructure such as a dedicated testing track, research and development centre, and a vendor ecosystem park to support component suppliers and ancillary industries.

The facility is expected to significantly boost production capacity, with an annual output target of around 9 lakh motorcycles. It is also projected to generate nearly 15,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to industrial growth and employment generation in the region. The project comes as Royal Enfield’s existing manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu are operating near full capacity.
Company leadership has stated that the Andhra Pradesh expansion will complement its existing production base, which includes four manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu and multiple assembly units across international markets. The company currently operates in more than 80 countries and continues to expand its global footprint, supported by rising demand and consistent production growth.
Chief Minister Naidu said the state government is committed to expediting approvals to ensure the project is completed within 18 months, instead of the originally planned 24-month timeline. He also highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s broader industrial strategy focused on electric mobility, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing, positioning the state as an emerging hub for future-ready automotive and clean energy investments.
