CBSE Class 10 and 12 Results 2026 Expected Mid-May; Step-by-Step Access Guide
CBSE Results 2026 expected mid-May; students can check scores, download marksheets, and request corrections.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has concluded the Class 10 board examinations for 2026 on March 10, while Class 12 exams are ongoing and scheduled to finish on April 9. This year, students appeared for 83 subjects in Class 10 and 120 subjects in Class 12, with approximately 25 lakh students in Class 10 and over 18 lakh in Class 12. Students, parents, and schools are now awaiting the announcement of results, which historically are released in mid-May. Last year, CBSE declared both Class 10 and Class 12 results on May 13.
Once released, students can check their results on official platforms including cbse.gov.in, results.nic.in, results.digilocker.gov.in, and umang.gov.in by providing their roll number, school number, admit card ID, date of birth, and the on-screen security pin. Mobile applications such as DigiLocker and UMANG also provide access to digital marksheets, certificates, and migration documents shortly after results are declared. DigiLocker, in particular, integrates CBSE’s academic repository “Parinam Manjusha,” allowing students to download marksheets, skill certificates, and other official documents.
Additional avenues to access results include IVRS (24300699 for Delhi subscribers, 011-24300699 for other parts of India) and SMS services. Students can send messages in specified formats to 7738299899 to retrieve their results. Google Search integration and apps like SMS Organiser may also display results. Those who do not pass in one or two subjects are eligible for compartment examinations, with schedules announced after result publication.

CBSE has also outlined procedures to correct errors in marksheets, such as mistakes in name or date of birth. Students must submit correction requests through their school, along with supporting documents including birth certificates, school admission and leaving records, valid ID proof, and a notarized affidavit explaining the correction. A processing fee applies, ranging from Rs 200 to Rs 1,000 depending on the type of correction.
For major name changes, students must provide court orders and government gazette notifications. Minor spelling or typographical errors can be corrected through supporting school records and verification by the principal. All requests must comply with CBSE’s timeline, typically within one year of the result declaration, to be considered valid.
CBSE-affiliated schools also use the e-Harkara portal to manage student records electronically. Corrections submitted through the portal are verified by school authorities and updated in both school and CBSE databases. The updated information is then reflected in all official documents, including marksheets, transfer certificates, and certificates of completion, ensuring accurate academic records for students.
