BSF Nabs 15 Pakistani Fishermen in Daring Kutch Border Operation

BSF arrests 15 Pakistani fishermen near Kutch border, seizes boat.

The Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended 15 Pakistani fishermen and seized an engine-fitted country boat near the Indo-Pak border in Gujarat’s Kutch district on August 23, 2025, following a targeted search operation. Acting on specific intelligence about an unidentified vessel in the Kori Creek area, personnel from the BSF’s 68th battalion conducted an extensive sweep of the adjoining bets, according to a BSF press release issued on August 24, 2025.

The operation resulted in the capture of the fishermen, all hailing from Sujawal district in Pakistan’s Sindh province, along with their boat, which was carrying approximately 60 kg of fish, nine fishing nets, diesel, ice, food items, and wooden sticks. Additionally, the BSF confiscated a mobile phone and Rs 200 in Pakistani currency from the group. The seizure underscores the BSF’s vigilance in securing India’s maritime borders amid heightened regional sensitivities.

The apprehended fishermen are currently in custody, and further investigations are underway to ascertain the circumstances of their presence near the border. This incident highlights the BSF’s ongoing efforts to maintain strict surveillance and prevent unauthorized incursions along India’s western frontier, particularly in the strategically sensitive Kutch region.
