#BREAKINGNEWS: Karnataka Courts Evacuated; Bomb Threat Emails Turn Out Hoax
Hoax bomb threat emails cause evacuations at Karnataka High Court Dharwad bench and several district courts.
Panic spread across judicial and administrative centres in Karnataka on Tuesday after bomb threat emails were sent to the Dharwad Bench of the High Court and several district courts, forcing immediate evacuations. Judges, lawyers, staff, and defendants were hurriedly moved out as court proceedings came to a standstill.
Apart from Dharwad, district courts in Mysuru, Gadag, and Bagalkote were also placed on high alert after receiving similar threatening emails. Bomb disposal squads and canine units conducted extensive searches of the premises, but officials later confirmed that no explosives were found. FIRs have been registered, and police are tracing the origin of the emails.
The threats were not confined to the judiciary. Earlier in the morning, the Regional Passport Office in Bengaluru’s Koramangala received a similar warning, prompting an emergency evacuation and thorough security sweep. The Passport Seva Kendra on Lalbagh Road also underwent precautionary checks. Both locations were ultimately declared safe, confirming the threats were hoaxes.

Koramangala police have registered a case following a complaint from passport officials, and investigators are exploring whether the emails sent to the courts and passport offices are linked to a common source. Authorities are analysing the digital trail to identify the perpetrators behind the coordinated hoaxes.
Security measures remain heightened across major government installations in the state, with police advising vigilance and reinforcing safety protocols. Court proceedings and public services are expected to resume once authorities declare the areas completely secure.
Officials have urged the public not to panic, emphasizing that no real threat has been detected, and investigations are ongoing to ensure such incidents do not recur.
