British Airways London–Hyderabad Flight Gets Bomb Threat, Lands Safely
British Airways plane lands safely despite scare.
A British Airways flight from London's Heathrow Airport to Hyderabad received a bomb threat via email, leading authorities at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to implement comprehensive safety measures upon its safe arrival on the morning of December 23, 2025. The incident involved flight BA 277, which was operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and carried passengers without any reported disruptions during the flight itself.
The anonymous threat was delivered through an email to the airport's customer support team on Monday, December 22, alerting officials to a potential explosive device on board. This prompted heightened vigilance, though the aircraft completed its journey and touched down normally, allowing for ground-based protocols to be activated immediately after landing to minimize risks.
Standard procedures were rigorously followed, including isolating the aircraft away from terminal areas on the tarmac, conducting thorough manual and canine-assisted screenings of all passengers, crew, baggage, and cargo, deploying explosive detection teams, and maintaining fire engines and emergency response units on high alert throughout the operation.

After exhaustive security sweeps by bomb disposal squads and the Central Industrial Security Force confirmed the absence of any threats, the all-clear was given, enabling passengers to proceed and the aircraft to be prepared for its scheduled return flight to Heathrow later that morning without additional delays.
This latest hoax forms part of an ongoing series of similar emailed bomb threats targeting flights to Hyderabad throughout December 2025, including earlier incidents involving IndiGo services from Madinah and Sharjah, where one flight was diverted to Ahmedabad, underscoring increased security challenges at Indian airports amid a wave of such false alarms.
