BJP, BSF and Central Agencies Plotted Murshidabad Riots! Mamata Makes Startling Accusation
Mamata Alleges BJP, BSF, and Central Agencies Plotted Murshidabad Riots
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee labeled the recent Murshidabad communal violence as “pre-planned,” accusing the BJP, sections of the Border Security Force (BSF), and central agencies of orchestrating unrest by facilitating a cross-border influx from Bangladesh.
Speaking at a meeting with Muslim clerics in Kolkata on Wednesday, Banerjee claimed the violence, which killed three and injured dozens, was fueled by external elements to polarize communities ahead of elections.
Banerjee criticized the central government’s handling of the Bangladesh border, alleging BSF complicity in allowing illegal entries despite regional volatility. She urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to block the “atrocious” Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, and rein in Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of pursuing a divisive political agenda.

“The state doesn’t guard the border; the Centre must answer,” she asserted, announcing a probe into BSF’s role and alleging they fired shots, killing one protester.
The Chief Minister promised Rs 10 lakh compensation for each victim’s family and vowed to investigate claims of BSF financing youths to incite violence. She accused BJP-linked “thugs” from outside Bengal of stoking chaos before fleeing, aiming to divide Hindus and Muslims. “They want a Jumla government, but we seek unity,” Banerjee said, rejecting the Waqf Act’s implementation in Bengal.
The violence, erupting after the Act’s passage on April 4, saw 221 arrests, internet suspensions, and BSF deployment in Murshidabad.
The BJP countered, alleging Banerjee’s “appeasement politics” enabled the riots, with over 400 Hindus reportedly displaced. As the Calcutta High Court oversees probes, Banerjee’s claims intensify a political firestorm, raising questions about border security and communal harmony.
