Bengaluru Traffic Police Announces IPL 2026 Parking Bans, Entry Gates and Drop Zones

Bengaluru traffic police announce IPL 2026 parking bans and stadium entry details.

The Bengaluru City Traffic Police has announced a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 matches scheduled to be held on March 28 and April 5 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The advisory outlines restrictions on parking, designated entry and exit points, and alternative arrangements to manage large crowds and ensure smooth traffic flow in the city.

According to the official notification, parking has been prohibited on several key roads surrounding the stadium. These include Queens Road, MG Road, Cubbon Road, Kasturba Road, and St. Mark’s Road, among others. Restrictions will also apply to connecting roads such as Raj Bhavan Road, Race Course Road, and Central Street, as well as areas within Cubbon Park. Authorities have stated that these measures are necessary to prevent congestion and maintain order during match days.

To accommodate visitors, designated parking facilities will be available at selected locations between 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM. These include grounds near St. Joseph’s institutions, Freedom Park multi-level parking, Garuda Mall, Shivajinagar Bus Stand, and UB City. Officials have urged attendees to make use of these designated areas instead of attempting to park near restricted zones.

The police have also detailed entry and exit arrangements at the stadium. Spectators can enter through multiple gates located along Cubbon Road, Queens Road, and nearby link roads, while specific gates have been reserved exclusively for players, officials, and VIPs. Exit routes have been streamlined to reduce crowding and ensure a smoother dispersal of attendees after the matches.

Additionally, pick-up and drop-off points have been arranged for app-based cab services and auto-rickshaws. Locations such as Manekshaw Parade Ground and BRV Ground will serve as designated zones for these services, with clear instructions provided for both arrivals and departures. These arrangements aim to minimise disruptions and improve overall traffic management in the vicinity of the stadium.

The Bengaluru City Traffic Police has advised the public to rely on public transportation, including BMTC buses and metro services, to reduce vehicular pressure on city roads. With large crowds expected for the IPL fixtures, authorities have emphasised the importance of following guidelines to ensure safety, convenience, and efficient movement across Bengaluru during the event days.
