Bengal BJP Government To Introduce Industry Policy In Maiden Budget Focused On Land Reform
Bengal BJP government unveils industry policy in maiden budget.
West Bengal’s BJP-led government is set to introduce a new industrial policy centred on streamlined land acquisition, single-window clearances and investor incentives in its maiden state budget scheduled for June 22, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced on Monday. The proposed policy is expected to form a key pillar of the administration’s broader strategy to accelerate industrialisation and boost employment in the state.
Speaking at a programme in Nandigram in Paschim Medinipur district, Adhikari said the upcoming budget would outline a comprehensive framework aimed at making West Bengal more attractive to investors. He added that the government plans to simplify land acquisition processes, introduce a single-window system for approvals, and provide targeted incentives to industries as part of efforts to improve ease of doing business.
The chief minister said the new industrial policy would be accompanied by several “pro-people” measures designed to strengthen job creation and support economic development across both urban and rural regions. According to him, the administration is focused on aligning industrial growth with welfare-oriented governance to ensure broader participation in economic progress.

Adhikari also said the state would facilitate access to credit for entrepreneurs through central government-linked schemes, including the PM Mudra Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). He stated that eligible beneficiaries would be supported in securing subsidy-linked loans at low interest rates, with an emphasis on collateral-free and guarantee-free financial assistance to promote small businesses and self-employment.
Highlighting the government’s social development goals, Adhikari announced a target of creating 10 lakh “Lakhpati Didis” through self-help groups during the current financial year. He said the initiative would focus on empowering women economically by enabling them to achieve sustainable income levels through micro-enterprises and cooperative models. The proposed industrial policy and associated welfare measures are expected to be among the key highlights of the upcoming budget session, as the state government positions economic expansion and employment generation at the centre of its governance agenda.
