Arunachal Governor Motivates NCC Cadets with 'Nation First' Message and Call for Discipline

Arunachal Governor urges NCC cadets to adopt 'Nation First' spirit and discipline.

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lieutenant General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) has called upon National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets to adopt the spirit of “Nation First” in both thought and action. Addressing cadets attending an annual training camp in Itanagar, the Governor emphasised that true national service begins with strong character, unwavering commitment, and a deep sense of responsibility. He urged young cadets to become disciplined individuals who can contribute meaningfully to the country.

The Governor was interacting with NCC cadets from various institutions of Arunachal Pradesh at the Himalayan University campus in Jollang. He encouraged them to become masters of their own destiny by maintaining the highest standards of discipline in every aspect of life. According to him, discipline nurtures determination, perseverance, and self-motivation, shaping cadets into responsible and capable citizens.

Highlighting the importance of cultural identity, Lt Gen Parnaik advised the cadets to take pride in their roots and the rich heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. He urged them to embrace ambition and fearlessness while leading by example in their communities. The Governor stressed that confidence and resilience are essential to overcoming challenges and achieving excellence in life.

During his visit, the Governor also inspected the NCC stall and showed keen interest in the displays showcasing the achievements of the 1 Arunachal Pradesh NCC Battalion. He praised the cadets for maintaining exceptionally high standards of drill, calling it a reflection of their rigorous training, teamwork, and commitment to NCC values. The displays highlighted the battalion’s dedication to discipline and service.

Colonel Samudra Vijay Sarma, Commanding Officer of the 1 Arunachal Pradesh NCC Battalion, briefed the Governor on the objectives of the CATC-134 Camp. He explained that the camp aims to foster discipline, camaraderie, leadership, and nationalism through a comprehensive training programme. Activities include physical training, drills, yoga, battle craft, firing practice, sports, and leadership development, along with creative and motivational sessions.

The 10-day combined annual training camp, which began on December 13, involves three Associate NCC Officers and 12 Army instructors. They are actively engaged in training cadets to promote confidence, holistic development, and responsible citizenship. The camp reflects NCC’s broader mission of preparing youth to serve the nation with dedication, integrity, and a strong sense of national pride.
