Army Vehicle Overturns on Gujarat Ghat Road – 9 Soldiers Injured
Army vehicle carrying cannon overturns on Gujarat ghat road, injuring nine soldiers including three critically.
A routine military convoy turned chaotic on Wednesday when an Indian Army vehicle overturned on the sharp curves of the Saputara–Shamgahan Ghat road in Gujarat’s Dang district. The vehicle, moving from Nashik to Jodhpur, resulted in nine soldiers sustaining injuries, three of them critically.
The overturned vehicle was carrying defensive military equipment, including an army cannon, heightening security concerns at the accident site. Local residents rushed to assist the soldiers, while Dang district police teams quickly cordoned off the area and coordinated emergency response measures.
The injured personnel were initially taken to Shamgahan Community Health Centre via 108 ambulances for primary care. Given the severity of some injuries, all nine soldiers were subsequently referred to Ahwa Civil Hospital, where treatment is ongoing.

The accident also caused a temporary traffic jam on the narrow ghat road, disrupting the movement of vehicles. Police teams acted swiftly to clear the congestion while maintaining strict security protocols due to the military hardware involved.
The incident has raised questions about safety measures during the transport of defense equipment through hilly terrains, though no casualties have been reported. At the time of reporting, the Gujarat wing of the Indian Army had not issued an official statement.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, ensuring both the injured soldiers’ recovery and the safe clearance of the accident site to prevent further disruption or security risks.
