Andhra Man Found Charred to Death In Bengaluru, Murder Suspected

Andhra man found charred to death near Bengaluru, murder suspected.

The charred body of a 26-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh was found alongside his motorcycle near Sarjapur in Bengaluru district on Thursday evening, with police suspecting that he may have been murdered before being set on fire. The victim was identified as Vamsi Krishna, a native of Tenali in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district.

Local residents discovered the body at around 6 pm after noticing flames along Bikkanahalli Road in Anekal taluk, close to Azim Premji University, and alerted the police. Senior officers, including Bengaluru Rural Additional Superintendent of Police Venkatesh Prasanna, visited the scene. A murder case has been registered at Sarjapur Police Station.

According to the preliminary investigation, Vamsi was staying at a paying guest accommodation in Electronics City. An engineering diploma holder, he had worked for a private company for about a year before becoming unemployed. Police said he left his accommodation on his motorcycle at around 3.40 pm on Thursday to pick up his friend Bhanu Prakash from the Sarjapur bus stand.

While travelling, Vamsi also called another friend and invited him for dinner later that evening. However, when Bhanu Prakash arrived in Sarjapur and tried to contact Vamsi at around 4.40 pm, his mobile phone was switched off. Police later identified the victim using the motorcycle’s registration details and contacted his brother, after which relatives and friends confirmed his identity.

The victim’s family has ruled out suicide and alleged that Vamsi was killed before his body and motorcycle were set on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence. Family members told police that he had no known personal enmity or relationship-related problems and called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

A Scene of Crime team, forensic experts and a dog squad examined the area and collected evidence. Investigators also found burnt garbage at the location, raising the possibility that the isolated spot had previously been used for waste burning. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and technical evidence as they work to establish the sequence of events and determine the motive behind the suspected murder.
