Amit Shah Praises Operation Sindoor As Symbol Of India’s Military Strength
Amit Shah praised Operation Sindoor as a historic display of India’s precise military capability and resolve.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday described Operation Sindoor as an “epochal mission” that would be remembered in history for showcasing the precise striking power of India’s armed forces. His remarks came on the first anniversary of the military operation carried out last year against terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and across the border.
In a post on social media platform X, Shah said Operation Sindoor symbolised the coming together of meticulous intelligence, strong political will, and the unmatched capability of the armed forces. He stated that the operation would serve as a lasting reminder to India’s adversaries that the country has both the intent and capability to respond decisively to threats against its citizens.
The Home Minister said the operation demonstrated that terrorists cannot escape accountability, adding that India’s security apparatus ensures that those responsible for attacks on civilians remain within its reach. He praised the armed forces for their coordination and precision, saying their actions reflected exceptional professionalism and courage in executing the mission.

Operation Sindoor is being observed on its first anniversary following its execution on May 6–7 last year as a retaliatory response to the April 22, 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, which killed 26 people including tourists and a local pony operator, was claimed by The Resistance Front, an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Officials have stated that the operation targeted high-value terror bases across the border in a focused and calibrated military response. It was designed as a non-escalatory action while still delivering a strong counterterror message. Government accounts have described it as a coordinated effort involving intelligence agencies and the armed forces working in close synergy.
As part of the anniversary observance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and other senior leaders updated their social media profiles with an “Operation Sindoor” themed image featuring the national tricolour. The government has reiterated that the operation stands as a symbol of India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its commitment to national security through both strategic restraint and decisive action when required.
