Air India Flight Diverted To Ahmedabad After ‘Bomb’ Note Found In Lavatory
Air India flight diverted after a bomb-related note was found.
An Air India Express flight operating from Dammam to New Delhi made an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad after a bomb threat was discovered onboard, officials said. The alert was triggered when a cabin crew member found a tissue paper inside the aircraft’s lavatory with the word “BOMB” written on it.
The crew immediately informed the pilot after discovering the note. The pilot then contacted Air Traffic Control and sought clearance for an emergency diversion and landing in Ahmedabad as a precaution. The aircraft was subsequently directed to the airport, where security arrangements were put in place before its arrival.
After landing, the aircraft was moved to an isolated bay away from the main terminal. Security personnel and bomb disposal teams were deployed around the aircraft and followed standard safety procedures. All 32 passengers onboard were safely evacuated and taken to Terminal 2, with no injuries reported.

Security personnel conducted a detailed search of the aircraft, including the cabin, passenger seats and cargo hold. The inspection did not find any explosive material or other suspicious items. Following the completion of the search, airport authorities cleared the aircraft after determining that there was no immediate security threat.
Air India Express, in a statement, confirmed that one of its flights from Dammam to Delhi had been diverted to Ahmedabad as a precaution after the airline received a specific bomb threat. The airline added that the government-appointed Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was alerted immediately and security procedures were initiated.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to establish who placed the note inside the lavatory and determine the motive behind the threat. The airline stated that the aircraft would be released for further operations after the necessary security checks were completed.
