2 Dead, Several Injured In Hyderabad Under-Construction Building Collapse
Hyderabad building collapse kills two, injures several others.
Two people were killed and several others injured after a seven-storey under-construction building collapsed in Hyderabad's Madhapur area on Saturday. The incident took place in Anjaiah Nagar, prompting police and rescue teams to rush to the site. Personnel were working to clear the debris and search for people who may have remained trapped beneath the collapsed structure.
A police official confirmed that two people had died in the incident and that rescue operations were continuing. Emergency personnel began removing debris from the site as part of efforts to locate and assist anyone still trapped. Authorities were expected to provide further details as the rescue operation progressed and the extent of the casualties was assessed.
Congress MLA Arekapudi Gandhi alleged that the building did not have the required clearances and had previously been under scrutiny by officials. He alleged that construction on the seven-storey structure had been stopped for around four months but had recently resumed. According to Gandhi, work on the cellar was also being extended towards an adjacent building connected to the structure.

Gandhi alleged that the continuation of construction despite earlier intervention may have contributed to the collapse. He also raised concerns over other alleged unauthorised constructions in the Serilingampally area and urged greater attention to compliance with construction regulations. His allegations are expected to be examined as authorities investigate the circumstances behind the incident.
The collapse has triggered a rescue and response operation at the site, with teams continuing to clear the rubble. Police and other emergency personnel are coordinating the search while injured people are being attended to. The condition of those injured and the exact number of people who may have been trapped was not immediately available.
Authorities are expected to investigate the building's construction history, approvals and safety compliance as part of the probe. The allegations regarding clearances and the circumstances surrounding the resumption of construction will also be examined. Further details on the victims, injured persons and the cause of the collapse are awaited as rescue operations continue.
