US Receives Israeli Intelligence On Reported Iranian Assassination Threat Against Trump

Israel reportedly warns US about alleged Iran assassination plot.

Israel has reportedly shared intelligence with the United States claiming that Iran may be planning a fresh attempt to assassinate US President Donald Trump, according to media reports citing US officials. The reported intelligence has heightened security concerns amid continuing tensions in West Asia, although neither the White House nor Iranian authorities have publicly commented on the alleged warning.

According to reports cited by PTI and The Wall Street Journal, the intelligence was conveyed as the United States and Israel continue close security coordination following recent military confrontations involving Iran. While officials have not disclosed specific details of the alleged plot, the information has reportedly been treated seriously by US authorities responsible for the president’s security.

The reported threat is believed to be linked to Iran’s longstanding pledge to avenge the killing of General Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force. Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike in Iraq in January 2020 during Donald Trump’s first term as president. Since then, Iran has repeatedly vowed to hold those responsible accountable, although it has consistently denied involvement in previous allegations of assassination plots targeting Trump.

The reports also come at a time when differences have reportedly emerged between Washington and Tel Aviv over how to deal with Iran. According to the reports, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has favoured maintaining military pressure on Tehran, while Trump has recently signalled support for reducing tensions after weeks of heightened regional conflict. Trump has previously stated publicly that he believes he remains at the top of Iran’s “death list.”

Neither the White House nor Iranian officials have issued an official response to the latest intelligence claims. As a result, the reports remain unverified by the governments directly involved. The allegations nevertheless reflect the continued security concerns surrounding the US president and the strained relationship between Washington and Tehran.

The latest development highlights the fragile state of US-Iran relations, which continue to be shaped by longstanding geopolitical disputes, regional security challenges and the legacy of the Soleimani killing. Analysts say any confirmed escalation could further increase tensions in an already volatile region, underscoring the importance of continued diplomatic and security efforts to prevent a broader conflict.
